Slow down, take a breather and enjoy beautiful things around you

"Read more slowly, enjoy the information you get, enjoy the warmth and good things around you, enjoy the coffee." (David JP Phillips)

Do you find it challenging to slow down after a day or week of activity? The feeling of hurrying may seem to linger on; in your thoughts you are in past events or you are planning hard for future ones, in which case you are not fully present in the passing moment. On the other hand, when you are present in the current moment, you can feel fully alive with all your senses. Have you noticed how it feels to be in the company of a person who is truely present? They deepen their conversation with you, ask questions and listen, they are genuinely interested. Your state of being is certainly quite different from being in the company of an "absent" person whose gaze and thoughts wander.

But how could you facilitate your own transition to the state of presence? For example, after a working day, you should try breathing in the forest or by the sea for a quarter of an hour  or you can spend your Friday lunch break consciously calming down, without as much as a glimpse on your cell phone. Various calming and relaxing massages also make it extremely easy to move into a state of presence. Let's enjoy small, good moments throughout the day, by breathing calmly and paying attention to our sensory experiences!
